Story Five (*)

Story Five, as my new novel is code-named, began as an experiment on Twitter writing a story in the form of a series of tweets called Tellers Quest. You can read all the existing episodes here. I stopped the experiment when I decided to transform Tellers Quest into a novel. Writing the scenario took me a long way from the original Twitter experiment. At first I tried to write as close as I could to the Tellers Quest text. This didn't work out well as it created an artificial straight jacket that stifled the development both of the characters and the story. Now the Tellers Quest remains only as a broad framework to inspire the new book. As I was writing the story during the month of frantic novel writing called NaNoWriMo, I decided to do some of the work in that context with all the excitement and the difficulties that entailed. My thanks go to those fellow writers for their stimulation, encouragement and help.
